Size: You can find egg pans ranging from 5" to 10" in size; consider how many eggs you'll need to be making at once, or if you prefer to make omelets or frittatas most of the time. Couples can get by with an 8" pan, but larger families should invest in a 10" (or larger!) pan to fry multiple eggs with ease.
Skillet versus sauté pans: The term "skillet" and "fry pan" are often used interchangeably; the former refers to pans that are made with wide, flaring and sloped sides, making it much easier to flip and agitate ingredients. But these sloped, short sides curve inwards, giving you less cooking space.
